What is Blue Chip Flag – San Dimas, CA?

Blue Chip Flag – San Dimas, CA is the premier youth football league for boys and girls ages 4-17 in the San Dimas, CA area brought to you by Blue Chip Youth Sports. The program provides young players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in continuous action while learning lessons in teamwork.

What comes with registration?

A reversible team identified jersey and Flag belt. Participants get to keep their jersey at the end of the season.

6 regular season games, 1-3 playoff games. 7-9 games total.

Season Champions will be invited to play in the Tournament of Champions at Pasadena High School in Pasadena, CA in between seasons. All travel and lodging will be the parent/guardian’s responsibility.

Opportunity for players to stay active and develop passing, receiving, evading and coverage skills with instructions from their head coach.

Certificate of Excellence will be awarded weekly to offensive and defensive top performers of each game.

Insurance policy that consists of a $5,000,000 liability policy.

Age Group

To keep the divisions as competitively equal as possible, starting in the Winter 2021 Season, the age groups and divisions will be as follows:

Blue Chip Flag – Chico assigns players to the following divisions (age brackets):

CO-ED DIVISIONS
Pee-Wee (4-6 years old)

Junior (7-8 years old)

Major (9-10 years old)

Semi Pro (11-12 years old)

Pro (13-15 years old)

GEMS ALL-GIRL DIVISIONS

Junior (6-8 years old)

Major (9-11 years old)

Semi Pro (12-14 years old)

Pro (15-17 years old)

*The organization reserves the right to adjust the divisions as needed to fill out rosters for any given season.

League Schedule and Practice

Fall 2025 Season games will take place on SUNDAYS from October 12th thru November 23rd.

Coaches conduct their own practices but we encourage no more than once a week. Each game takes an hour. All games are played at San Dimas High School in San Dimas, CA.

FALL 2025 SEASON WILL RUN FROM OCTOBER 12TH THRU NOVEMBER 23RD

FALL 2025 REGULAR REGISTRATION – Before 9/15/2025 ($190)

**Refunds: You may request a refund up to 7 days after your registration date. No refunds will be given after the 7 day grace period OR within 14 days of the season starting (no exceptions).

Our age cut-off for the Fall 2025 season is October 1st, 2025. This means the player’s age on October 1st, 2025 determines their age division. For example, a child born on October 1st, 2012 has a league age of 12, while a child born on September 30th, 2012 has a league age of 13.

Birth certificates are required and must be uploaded to your account when registering.

Coach background checks are required for all new head coaches.

Game Day Attire

Please make sure your child wears shorts/pants with NO pockets. Cleats are okay, but metal spikes are not allowed. Mouth piece is required. All participants are required to order and wear a GameBreaker Soft Shell Helmet starting in the Spring 2021 Season. The helmets will be MANDATORY.

⏱️ Game Length: 1 hour per game

📊 Season Format: 6 regular‑season games + 1–3 playoff games (7–9 total)

📘 Practices: Set by each coach; we encourage no more than once per week

🏆 Champions: Season champs earn an invite to the Tournament of Champions at Pasadena High School (travel/lodging are the parent/guardian’s responsibility)

💵 Co‑Ed Divisions (Junior–Legend): $190

💵 GEMS All‑Girls Divisions: $159

💵 Rookie (3–4) & Pee Wee (5–6): $139

🏈👕 Additional cost of 2nd jersey if playing in more than one division: $75

How We Play (Quick Specs)

🎮 Rookie (3–4): 4v4 on a kid‑sized field; no scores or stats—maximum fun and learning

🎮 All other divisions (Pee Wee–Legend, including all GEMS): 5v5 on a 25‑yd × 70‑yd field with two 10‑yd end zones; scores, standings, & stats tracked

🚫 No blitzing in Rookie, Pee Wee, & Junior (Co‑Ed) and GEMS Junior & GEMS Major; controlled/allowed blitzing in older groups with safety rules

Refunds & Age Cut‑Off

You have the option to purchase a third party refund protection policy during checkout that will cover any instances outside of our refund policy.

🎂 Age cut‑off date: December 31st, 2025. Your player’s league age is their age on that date.

Examples:

• Born January 1, 2013 → league age 12 (turns 13 the day after the age-cutoff date)

• Born December 31, 2012 → league age 13

Documents & Safety

📄 Birth certificate required (upload during registration).

🛡️ Mandatory NCSI background checks (National Center for Safety Initiatives) for all coaches, assistant coaches, staff, and referees.

✅ Required trainings: abuse prevention & reporting and concussion training for staff and coaches.

🧠 Mental Health Initiative — The Blue Chip Mindset™:

The “Blue Chip Mindset™” initiative by Blue Chip Youth Sports is about building resilience, mental toughness, and confidence for athletes of all ages. Using strategies to enhance mental performance, the “Blue Chip Mindset™” supports athletes in striving for excellence while making lifelong memories. This initiative instills a foundation to help athletes maximize their potential both on and off the field.
